Planting Naturals and its subsidiaries commit to the responsible production of palm oil and its associated products. To ensure the implementation of this commitment, we have the following policies for all our operations.
FOREST CONSERVATION POLICY
Planting Naturals and its subsidiaries commit to the responsible production of palm oil and its associated products. Both new and existing production units are committing to no deforestation under any circumstances and this is a core principle of our business. This policy applies to our existing and any future projects, in our own plantation areas and the smallholders we work with in Africa.
HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY
At Planting Naturals, we believe that respect for human rights is essential for successful business management and detrimental for the sustainable development of the world. Therefore, we aim to respect and proactively foster internationally-recognised human rights within our sphere of influence, especially the rights of the most vulnerable groups in the communities where the company operates. We perceive it as our duty, and this is the baseline for our social responsibility policies.
LAND USE POLICY
Our land use policy will serve to prevent any conflict in relation to land use and preserve the associated rights of the local inhabitants. This policy will delineate our methods of conflict prevention and will provide the current owners and occupants of the land with appropriate information relating to their participation and collaboration with the Planting Naturals.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY
This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy outlines Planting Naturals’ philosophy towards responsible business management and lays down the guidelines for undertaking socially and environmentally beneficial programs for the welfare and sustainable development of the communities where the company operates.
GHG EMISSIONS AND CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION POLICY
This Policy outlines Planting Naturals’ actions towards reduction in GHG emissions and climate change mitigation. We understand and appreciate the enormous threat to human and natural systems as a result of anthropogenic climate change. Therefore, we continuously monitor and strive to significantly limit our greenhouse gas emissions in every aspect of our operations, whilst also contributing to carbon sequestration through indigenous forest protection and our organic and regenerative agricultural policies.
RSPO SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES POLICY
This policy stipulates Planting Naturals' commitment to the newly proposed concept of Shared Responsibilities presented by the RSPO within the sustainable palm oil supply chain, and its associated aspects. As Processors & Trader in the supply chain of sustainable palm oil, we recognise the additional steps we must implement within our own company, as is established in the Shared Responsibility Requirements and Implementation guidelines published by the RSPO.
